Let this be a lesson to those that believe thatthey can send abusive messages to me or others
without consequence. People are free to engage
in spirited debate but if you are abusive, you will
be held accountable.
NEW:
@oakridgeowls has suspended Butch Groves, head of
upper school at Oakridge in Arlington, after he admitted to
sending an expletive-filled Twitter message to
@MichaelAvenatti, attorney for Brett Kavanaugh
accuser and Stormy Daniels

(15,036 posts)The pension protection bill is named in honor of Butch Lewis, who died in December 2015, and was an important leader in the pension protection movement. His widow, Rita Lewis, has carried on the fight and was a featured speaker at the Washington DC press conference.
Rita has worked tirelessly in the past two years, and has spoken at rallies, press conferences, and testified at the U.S. Senate in 2016.
Butch was a Vietnam veteran, who survived a war injury that ended his baseball career. He wasnt one to complain, however. He became a dedicated Teamster, a long time TDU member (Teamsters for a Democratic Union), and a caring person who never tooted his own horn.
He believed in honest work and justice and put his beliefs into practice. He was a freight driver and steward for Holland Motor and was well-respected by his co-workers. He became a business agent, and later served a term as the President of Cincinnati Local 100.
Butch stood up for solidarity and democracy. He served on the TDU Steering Committee and ran for International Vice President on the 2006 Tom Leedham slate, working to bring integrity and solidarity to the Teamster leadership.
It is a fitting tribute to Butch Lewis that the pension protection bill be named in his honor.

Controversy
In September 2018, Oakridge's Head of Upper School, Butch Groves, sent a profanity-laced public Twitter message to lawyer Michael Avenatti. Avenatti had just announced he had a client who would make public with allegations against US Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. Groves wrote to Avenatti: "You are a fucking douche bag [sic]. You are a lying piece of shit."[26][27]

Oakridge: private, "independent" (non-denominational) coeducational school for grades pre-school through 12th grade. Around 800 students total, 300 in grades 9-12. Tuition ranges from $8000+ for pre-school to $23,000/year for grades 9-12.

(6,699 posts)....and this pig in the White House glorified and magnified the bigotry and racism across the land.
It had to happen. I always felt this was a racist, ignorant nation of inflated egos and little minds, and it was going to take something special to bring it out in the open. Black President is exactly what was needed.
Now, lets deal with it. Growing pains. Its going to take a generation to cleanse the filth out of this country. We are better than this, but we have to address these sick bastards who have been hiding among us.
