The DCCC is inexplicably letting Devin Nunes get re-elected, abandoning an amazing Dem candidate

Normally, CA-22 is very red. But this year, the political climate has changed across the country, and thanks to Nunes’ absolutely pathetic shilling for Trump and Putin, as well as his deep disconnect with his Central California district, he’s put himself in a real danger zone. Nipping at his heels is the aggressive, progressive prosecutor Andrew Janz, an energetic candidate who has been raising big money online and canvassing the central California district since this time last year. He’s pulled to within five points of Nunes in polls, and with some help, could depose the dopey Republican — but the DCCC, he says, is reneging on its promise to provide him with that help.

via Politico:

The 34-year-old prosecutor contends that the Democratic Party’s House campaign arm has cut him out of promised fundraising money and frozen him out in his bid to unseat Nunes, a top ally of President Donald Trump who has worked tirelessly to delegitimize the probe into Russian inteference in the 2016 presidential election.

In an interview with POLITICO, Janz and his campaign manager, Heather Greven, said the DCCC misled Janz about the support he could expect from the DCCC in the Central Valley-based district. And Janz said he has asked DCCC staff and members of Congress for a five-minute call with DCCC Chairman Ben Ray Luján, but “he won’t return my calls.”

“I can’t even get him on the phone, and I’m raising more money than any one of their targeted races here in California,” Janz said.

Janz raked in more than $1 million in July alone through ActBlue, the online Democratic fundraising platform. That’s more than two of the party’s biggest online fundraisers — Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) — collected on the platform during the same month.

I choose my own candidates, not the party's idea of who to support. And I tell them that when they call for money.

Lack of funds doesn't explain misleading and not returning a promising candidates calls.

Maybe they are tired of all the winning already.

So the question is who gets short-changed to help Janz? Because then we will get a DU post comparing about that decision.

I get a call from a different paid staffer every night.

I think we will see big things in AZ

The problem is if you are going to invest in staff for GOTV you have to commit early.

Sep 2018

62% of the vote in 2012
72% in 2014
68% in 2016

The DCCC cannot make up for Janz shortage of cash, either.

As of June 30th

Devin Nunes (R) • Incumbent COH $6,108,585
Andrew Janz (D) COH $1,124,156

https://www.opensecrets.org/races/summary?cycle=2018&id=CA22

Janz needs to run a race to the best of his ability. Losing is a part of the fifty state strategy. Not all seats are winners. Janz needs to keep getting our message out.

DCCC is covering as many competitive races as it can; Nunes' seat (R+8, "SAFE R" ) isn't one of them.
