The two do not appear to be mutually exclusive. Kavanaugh did not necessarily tell the classmate the truth any more than he told Fox the truth. Likely, he embellished his exploits then, depending on his audience, and now denies the embellished versions and the accused versions.

I think he lies just because he's gotten away with it in the past.

I'd question him more closely on exactly WHEN and WHERE he popped his cherry..... If he couldn't answer immediately he's a fucking liar. For a guy who supposedly saved himself from underage, casual sex, finally getting laid would have been a momentous occasion (even if it only lasted a minute). And questions like these are not out of line thanks to Kavanaugh setting the bar for offensive questions during the Clinton debacle.

Even having a lie acknowledged is a bit of a PR win.

I just don't see the best friend of a guy who admitted being involved in at least one gang rape not being involved. He hung out with Judge and got girls drunk with him.
