North Dakota GOP Senate nominee: Im not sure trying to rape someone should disqualify you from SCOTUSBrad Reed 25 SEP 2018 AT 10:22 ET
During an interview with local news station KX4, Cramer insisted that he believed Kavanaughs account that he didnt try to rape Christine Blasey Ford when the two of them were teenagers.
However, later in the interview, he questioned whether Kavanaugh should actually be disqualified from serving on the Supreme Court if he had done what Ford alleges he did 36 years ago.
What if something like what Dr. Ford describes happened its tragic, its unfortunate, its terrible, it should never happen in our society, he began. But what if [there is] 36 years of a record where theres nothing like that again, but instead theres a record of a perfect gentleman, an intellect, a guy whos been a stellar judge even if its all true, does it disqualify him?

(10,026 posts)If one owns up to the transgression and explains how they made poor decisions in the past and how their actions through the years prove they are a changed person then things might be different. No one is saying they do not believe in redemption for past mistakes.
It is the pattern of lying Kavanaugh has exhibited throughout the nomination process that is the problem. He knew about hacked emails, he worked on Pryor's campaign, he was known for getting drunk, he was part of a group of kids that bragged about getting laid, he said he believes in settled law (but brags to like minded conservatives that laws can be changed and challenged), ...
He is an idiot for not owning up to the fact he IS a conservative with a partying past. He is not fooling anyone but he continues to lie. He is therefore not fit for the Supreme Court bench.

So attempted rape doesn't disqualify someone from the SCOTUS? I'd run him saying that over and over again until the election.

(13,421 posts)Not every woman is a cranky old fart like I am, but DAY-UM this crop of Republicans sure is a stupid bunch.
Once you cross that line of forcing your physical shit on victim, as far as I am concerned you deserve every misfortune that finds you, and probably even more. If that includes the victim, any of thier family and friends, or even some random bystander putting you in the hospital, I have zero problem with it. If your early bad life choices doesn't follow you for the rest of your life that just doesn't feel fair to me. For sure, your shit is gonna follow your victim for the rest of their life.
I freely admit to the reality that I'm probably not dispensing the best advice here. I have a deep and well rooted hate of rapists and rapist wanna-be types.
