www.vote411.org - Pass it on.

I'm one of those rare people who answer phone when it rings. I know it's probably someone selling something or someone political, but I'm okay with that. And sometimes I'll donate. Today, I got a call from the Democratic Governors' Association. The young woman reading the script did not "own" it yet. So, I asked a bunch of questions. How old are you (18), how many calls have you made (a handful), how much money have you gotten (none). I forgot to ask if people had been rude. At any rate, I promised her some money. And then I went to "schooling her". I told her how highly contested the Maryland and Florida races were. I told her to go to the DGA website and get more familiar with other races. I helped her understand the potential consequences of having an imbalance of governors of one party in terms of constitutional amendments. And then, I asked if she was registered. NO. I was floored. I urged her to register ASAP. And then I told her about [link:http://www.vote411.org|] . It's up and running now. And it's an easy place to go to to register to vote. I'm hoping she will go to the website after she gets through with her calls. If you've read this far, please, please, please send people you know to this website (except Marylanders who have to go to the Maryland website). BE NOSY. Ask the people you know if they are registered, and if not, help them get it done. VOTE411.org is easy to remember, easy to get to. And they don't discriminate, they don't preach, they don't care what party you want. They just want you to be an informed voter. I think if there's anything I want to do this year, it's to help people become informed voters.

I have a young friend who didn't know you had to re-register after you move.

I will send this to her.

Thank you!
