to force the senate republicans to suspend the vote and call for a full investigation?
They gave Trump a pass even when he has 19 accusers, is that still their standard?

(11,495 posts)And they know that. If they don't have the votes before hand, I don't think they are going to put it on the floor. It wouldn't make much sense to do so. Most of them are not up for an election this year, but they will be, and the ads would be a disaster for most of them.

(15,031 posts)To be on the floor of the Senate, with C-SPAN cameras rolling, and McConnell and Pence hectoring you, threatening you with whatever kompromat they've got, telling you your career in OVER (whether as politician, pundit, lobbyist, consultant, author) if you don't vote yes... and voting no anyway.
Most of these people didn't arrive at those jobs by having that kind of courage. They arrived at those jobs by being sleazy spineless compromisers.
McConnell forced a vote on ACA repeal because he thought he could embarrass just enough cowardly Senators into voting for it, or at worst put the blame on that one last no vote (in the case of ACA, a terminally ill McCain). He will want to do the same with Kavanaugh.
