Dare I say the word "evil." I have had to limit my exposure to the Kavanaugh stuff as woman after woman has come forward with her story of sex abuse by him. And now today, I learn that the EPA is eliminating the office of its science advisor. I swear that GOP has come to mean the Greedy Oppression Party. And the lies and corruption just never ends with these people. That dreadful sham that McConnell and Grassley ran to force BK thru without even a semblance of fairness, integrity, and due diligence was the last straw for me. How people can align themselves with that filthy bunch is a complete mystery to me. I simply don't get it. And that's not even taking Trump into consideration. He's a whole extra level of degeneracy and stupidity. Capitalism has completely failed us. Thanks for letting me vent.

(11,885 posts)But we had a women come before a nation , which took so much courage , and showed them the truth is more powerful then they are. Their insulting women with the way they've run this proceeding , and promoted a liar, and a possible rapists, only empower women to vote them out of office even more. Men who stand behind women will also back Democrats and the gop are losing more people now. They're running away from trump and the gop now in large numbers after this disaster. Trump did this to them by nominating such a monster , a completely flawed candidate that can't stand up to a FBI investigation without exposing his criminal acts against women. I fully expect him to withdraw before he's exposed even more , and loses his present job on the bench. Kavanaugh and trump will whine and rant that its others fault for their incompetence now. Trump could care less about what he did to women, and all he wanted was a loyalist and someone that could be compromised also. Or was he picked by Putin?

(14,575 posts)I've seen them for what they are, and had heartburn over it since the early 90s.
The problem is 1/3 of the country Walking Dead, and the other one third or people who are quote in the middle on quote by this they both are the same b*******, and tend to break right because they hear them screaming all the time and think something must be up with it.
The media indulges it.
Until this country can collectively call it for what it is, the conservatives are unhinged lunatics, and is a political party a completely corrupt power Craven entity, and stop with this both in the same b*******, we're stuck in the mud.

AND love the sentiment, but come on, you got the wrong avatar, the Dalai Lama is never going to say that. It's a kind of cognitive dissonance, get a more fire breathing picture and let 'er rip.

(7,142 posts)because he was a truth teller. He put out a narrative contrary to msnbc so they fired him. He explained it so that average smucks like me could understand, capitalism isn't so bad, but what we have is crony capitalism.

(36,540 posts)I'm not saying taxpayers should never bail out industry, but let's acknowledge that that isn't true capitalism & vilify socialism at the same time. Sometimes I think Americas are too stupid for representative government. When they do those late night TV clips of people who can't even name one of their senators, I'm just WTF?

(14,496 posts)Those of us of rational minds that were nurtured from our youth cannot comprehend how everyday folks can fall into a cult by brainwashing, but that's what we have in millions of Americans - plus many others in other regions of the earth.
The fundamental problem is that capitalism has not failed them, those of the few. Unfortunately, in our current culture and economy, wealth automatically comes with power and our culture celebrates that process. In a true just world, increased wealth should bring increased humility and charity.
A relatively small number of people of vast wealth are the primary problem because they fund this evil conspiracy in the dark and there's little we can do about it. They made their fortunes from our wallets but don't care about us and yet make a big show of dropping a dollar in the charity bucket. They believe their wealth gives them the right to control us and this mental quirk of human genetics may accelerate our downfall.
Humility and unselfishness may well save us, but I shudder to think what will have to happen to get us there.

(8,930 posts)with Republicans are certainly greedy and self centered to support the Republican agenda. This wasn't the last straw for me, just more of the same. I've come to expect nothing less from people like McConnell and Grassley and Ryan, and could go on naming names. My last straw with them came years ago with their agenda on health care and our entitlement programs.
