Dick Morris today says that Mitt Romney "
is currently leading in every state McCain carried plus: Indiana, New Hampshire, Wisconsin, Nevada, North Carolina and Colorado. If he carries these states, hell have 228 electoral votes of the 269 he needs to win."
But Romney is NOT winning in NH, Wisconsin, Nevada or CO, where Obama has the lead in the polling average; so Morris typed 4 falsehood in a paragraph. That must be some sort of record.
He also says Romney has a "strong probability" of winning FL, OH and VA.
Or maybe the fact that he writes for "rightwingnews.com" makes him believe only ignorant right-wingers read his stuff...
I learned of his "analysis" via a Tweet. I got curious and followed it.

(4,340 posts)Damn. I thought his schtick was some sort of comedy routine. Kinda like a Harvey Fierstein impression or something. It was funny as hell, too.

(3,173 posts)George Will is the worst political analyst in America, but there are so many bad ones, it's hard to pick one out for recognition as the worst. I never liked Tim Russert either.

(8,556 posts)Not sure why it's repeated so much. Kristol predicted the Iraq war fairly early, he predicted that Obama would win the Democratic nomination, and he also predicted Palin's selection as McCain's running mate. Aside from Palin, none of these were exactly long-shots, but he made the predictions nonetheless.
While his predictions about Ryan/Rubio were obviously off, he should probably get a consolation prize for Ryan being on the ticket. He was talking about Ryan as part of a national ticket when few else were. Even as late as last week, the CW was for Portman as VP, not Ryan.
He's still wrong about policy, but when it comes to predictions, he actually has a fairly decent (though far from great) track record.

(2,577 posts)But he has lots of competition to be the WORST. Faux Noise is filled with inept and bogus political analysis. William Kristol has pretty much been wrong with everything he has ever said.
However, Dick Morris sounds like he is going to wheeze and die before completing a single sentence. Oh, and he was the rocket scientist back in 2008 who promised us an election between Hillary Clinton and Rudy Giuliani. He doesn't predict so well.
