Sorry for shouting, but this is how he treats people. Routinely. There is no point in giving him the benefit of the doubt, cutting him some slack, or making allowances for his boorish behavior. Go to these availabilities with a chip on your shoulder, emotionally ready for abuse, because you're going to get it. Decide ahead of time if you're going to meet his rudeness with rudeness of your own, or with injured disbelief, or whatever. But be ready for it, it's coming.
