is actually suggesting a curfew.

But it is interesting to think about how life would be different without the dangers women need to watch for every moment of our lives.

And we all did know some guy would find those musings offensive and need to tell us about it.

...just like you're expressing yours. Why is that a problem?

If someone "hypothetically" mused over what men would do if all women were subject to a 9:00pm curfew, some people on here would lose their fucking minds.

There might be a lesson in your feelings of offense. Especially since the thread was posted EXPLICITLY as a thought exercise.

Made it so males weren't allowed to drive. And always had to be chaperoned by a female relative or their spouse.

And you know that "style" where the beer gut hangs out under the too-small t-shirt? And plumbers crack? Absolutely outlawed. Public stoning.

...It's not only offensive, it's ridiculous - and sexist - to think that if men were off the street by 9:00pm, women wouldn't need to be concerned for their safety because women don't kill other women, rape other women, steal from other women or assault other women.

What bullshit.

As a guy, this thread is not offensive.

Six of one, half a dozen of other other... and each as expansive, sourced and premised as the other. Which is to say, they're both simplistic bumper stickers.

It really doesn't affect me, because I'm not a predator and none of this I feel is taking personally to myself.

I'm not saying that you are, or somehow you feel "if the shoe fits type" of deal. It's just that its hard to hear that the female population feels this way.

There was a cabinet meeting and at one point the topic of rape came up. It seems there had been a marked upsurge in rapes in that country. One of the male ministers suggested imposing a curfew on women to deal with this. Meir supposedly answered, why not a curfew on men, since they're the ones doing the raping?

I don't know if that story is true. Probably should Google it, but that's what came to mind.

If men had to face the same constraints on their lives that women do because of rape culture, we might actually see some serious attention brought to the issue.

How could this country function?

So men could not go to an 8:00 PM Movie?

Better shut down Professional Sports, Athletes & Fans are normally at games until after 10:00 PM.

Forget Concerts, Theater, Plays, all of which end after that.

And who is going to work at Restaurants, many of which close at 10:00 PM? Or 24 Hr Fast Food joints?

Better get more jail space for all the violators, or is the idea just to fine them?

Youth curfews; bar curfews; public park curfews; etc.

Research concludes that curfews fail to prevent crime or victimization.

But they would have to do to apply to the male curfew and thinking how it would apply in this situation where I have season tickets and after the Michigan State game is it past Midnight by the time I got home so I easily would be breaking it. Just answering the hypothetical.

But there are many in the north half of Tempe who would love to see that curfew (with females included).
