It's up to them. If they think Trump limited the investigation and the FBI needs a bit more time to finish a complete investigation they will get that time, assuming they keep their word. McConnell is not calling the shots.

It's hard to know if this is desperation by McConnell to save his own criminal skin or what.

Only true thing is that he said it.
Who knows beyond that.

Hope McConnell fails to get a vote at all. Ever.
