Even if Kav is confirmed Saturday....if we win, DEMS can reopen and impeach Kav...some hope?

So Tweety is wetting his drawers that FBI report is completed at midnite and McConnell only showing to the 100 Senators....Rick Rosenberg is so calm and cool...he says that is how it is done....then...Cynthia Axney says even if Kav is confirmed Saturday....if we win, DEMS can reopen and impeach Kav. Some hope for us?

The Senate convicts.

Trump could be Jack the Ripper and the republicans wouldn't care.

Subpoena a sitting Judge or Justice. Not sure how that would work, but I suspect he wouldn't have to appear due to separation of powers issues. There is a remedy to remove a Justice from the court.

(which this would inevitably be, as the odds of gaining that much control of the Senate in the foreseeable future seem quite poor) is worse than no impeachment at all. Look how much damage the Republicans took by pushing impeachment with Clinton.

And I don't want to make it easy for future pub controlled congress to impeach, try, convict and remove any Dems.

Article I

<...>

Section 3.

<...>

The Senate shall have the sole power to try all impeachments. When sitting for that purpose, they shall be on oath or affirmation. When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside: And no person shall be convicted without the concurrence of two thirds of the members present.

Then even the GOP Senators will have to vote to impeach. It will work. All it will take is a Democrat in the White House and a AG who uphold's the law. Now getting rid of Trump will take impeachment.

Investigate in the House. Involve law enforcement in some fashion. Demonstrate an actual crime (lying during confirmation is a good one). Then have the crime charged.

The ought for an indicted Supreme to stay a Supreme with a criminal charge or conviction. Can one dispense Supreme verdicts from jail?

In fact beyond the fact that I think Ye Olde Founding Fathers probably assumed that anyone who would be seated on the court would be a biped of some sort, there are really no constitutional requirements. Not age or citizenship or no criminal record or anything.

Amazing, isn't it?

but there isn't anything that says a Justice has to be Lawyer, much less one in good standing with the ABA.

still, if he is proven to be a perjurer and is disbarred for that, it would be a lot harder for the Senate not to convict and remove.
