I will respectfully disagree. The majority of the FBI resents Trump, and have no respect for him. Hence, the attempt to avoid an FBI investigation -- for Trump takes everything personal. Top officials have in the past disagreed with various Democrats -- including presidents. But there wasn't the level of resentment nor disrespect.

They have to know that if he could, Trump would summarily replace them with lackeys that he was sure that he had control over.
