Chuck Todd spoke truth: "Older people want security, not choices in their health care."

Chuck, you were right on this morning, responding to Ryan blathering about giving seniors "choices" in their health care!

I love that the MSM is really giving Ryan the riot act. I really didn't expect them to be so rough on the guy. I guess you could say I'm pleasantly surprised...hope they keep it up and don't get silenced...

I don't know what these turds even mean by choice. When we had to move our Mom to assisted living due to her memory problems, my sister and I found appropriate doctors to fit her needs in every area, no problems with Medicare at all, she had plenty of choice and we simply sought the best medical professionals we could find. I just don't get the use of the word "choice"? It's all just a bunch of BS, seniors have to know they have plenty of choice, unless they absolutely have to have Ron Paul as a doctor, he won't take medicare, but he's also bat-shit crazy.

is that they are not grandfathered into anything. If they go along with screwing younger people, we won't be willing to keep paying for their health care. Medicare only works when everyone can count on it. Take that away and people will demand they just scrap it. That's what the right wants anyway.

So, they will have to go after existing senior citizens. That's the entire Republican trick. Always create a budget deficit through tax cuts, and use the deficit to gut social programs.

They need the deficit like they need Rowe v. Wade to keep getting anti-abortion votes. Like they need 9/11 to start wars. Like they need wars to keep up military spending.

Nice job buying into the Teabagger induced war pitting groups against one another. We are all better served when the fingerpointing stops and we address the task at hand.

Even if they give the seniors vouchers to use at private insurance companies, the insurance companies will still have strict rules and regulations they have to follow to give certain benefits....which is basically the same system we have now.

Medicare and medicaid are currently ALREADY managed by private insurance, they just get paid as a contractor basically by the Govt. THIS WON"T CHANGE CARE AT ALL!!! It will just change who the checks are going to, and will make it more expensive.

They will be able to choose which private insurance company will screw them out of both choice in doctors and benefits compared to what they have now. Just putting in a middle-man that will demand to be paid, which has to result in a loss to what is received in benefits.

I don't need another layer of choices on top of that.
I wound up doing a cost-benefit analysis of several plans.
Turned out a lower monthly premium plan with a higher upfront deductible had less annual cost.

If eventually more people in the media will move on from their infatuation with making this into a horse race and start really fearing the implications of the Romney-Ryan White House. This isn't George Bush screwing most people on tax cuts or sending some poor kids off to war that these reporters will never know (cynical argument intended). This could end up ruining their lives as well as all of ours. Hopefully they will wise up and see that Romney winning is an unacceptable outcome.

the healthy food. That is what having to make the decision regarding who is going to be my insurer is like. Not to mention that most government workers are not allowed to give us advice. Medica is working for me now but I would still rather have a single payer health care system like Medicare used to be.
