The White House and FBI have been interacting gingerly throughout the investigation into Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, in part due to the fear that Democrats could win the House and subpoena internal communications, according to a Tuesday Washington Post report.
An unnamed source told the Washington Post that the two institutions are being very careful with each other.
Everyone realizes that they are under a huge amount of scrutiny, and will be when its over, too, the source added.
Lawyers for two of Kavanaughs accusers, professor Christine Blasey Ford and Deborah Ramirez, have voiced concerns that the investigation is cursory or being stymied by members of the administration who want to see Kavanaugh confirmed.

(25,270 posts)'We have completed part of the investigation and realize that it is not as comprehensive at it should be in order to give the Judiciary Committee the information it needs to make an informed decision on the confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh. We recommend that we interview both Mrs. Ford and Mr. Kavanaugh as well as others named by Mrs. Ford and Mr. Kavanaugh that can corroborate their testimony as well as other accusers of Mr. Kavanaugh that made their accusations after Mrs. Ford. We feel that without questioning all of the important subjects that the report that we provide will not be complete and up to the FBI standards for such investigations. We ask for additional instructions from you as well as additional time so that we can provide you with a more complete report.'
They should put this statement to the WH and let the WH provide them with specific instructions as to whether or not they should proceed and do a better job of the investigation or whether the WH wants them to stop.
Let the WH go on record - if they wish to obstruct and stymie this investigation to the point that it results in a sham.
