Trump is setting the FBI up. Right?

That is where all this is headed I'm pretty sure right? The report will come back and the Republicans will say after a full investigation nothing was found Kavanaugh is all good and we're going to vote them in.

Then everyone's going to want to see the report which won't be released. And when it is finally leaked people are going to blame the FBI for not following every lead.

Meanwhile Trump and his crew will say hey we let them do whatever they wanted we didn't stop them from following any leads they said they didn't want to.

The FBI are the ones who cleared Kavanaugh so if you have a problem with that go talk to them.

Maybe I am just being cynical

...or press conference -- their instructions must be in writing. This was a clear reference to Trump's original written instructions versus his presser comment that they could do anything they want. No they can't.
