(i still have all of one side of my family living there) i am so disappointed in the state. but, as i was thinking about the state and typing this post, i concluded the same. it is the huge immigration issues they have in that state that has made them so extreme.

lots of farmers hate the new laws that keep them from hiring "undocumented" workers...they may vote against the GOP in the next go round.

I grew up in SC, and my family there is still hardcore "conservative", but the anti-farm immigration policies, attacks on women, non-protestant, factory-closing RR ticket has them backing down. If there is one thing that they cling to it's "gun control".

I don't know it is enough to turn the tide, but ??

It will be tough, but Obama could win in NC again, just as he did in 2008.

He WON North Carolina in 2008, therefore it's in play again this year.

And from the polls I've seen, he's still polling strong there.

In NC, for instance, I can't see the Mormon/Catholic thing knocking people over. Romney did choose a more conservative vice presidential candidate to appeal to these folks, but no one votes for the vice president.
