John McCain, John Kasich, or Mitt Romney for example, are likely good men with whom I just happen to strongly, strongly, strongly disagreed.
I'm gay and all these men were against my rights, but I think in their heart of hearts they were decent people. They were good people who had some bad ideas and sometimes did bad things.
That doesn't mean I could ever vote for them or support them for public office because politics isn't about likability. It is about policy.
Trump, and his ilk, however. They are not "good people I strongly disagree with." They are bad people who do bad, horrible, heartless things. They are dangerous and on the verge of destroying our democracy.
