This is tonights GOP talking point about why Christine Fords allegations shouldnt have been taken seriously.
Lets recall that Trump doesnt remember meeting the many women who have accused him of sexual assault. He also didnt remember instructing his lawyer to pay off two of the women whose accusations could have ruined his chances of being elected.
Trump, who has bragged for decades about being a self-made man, also didnt remember that his father gave him millions of dollars, and repeatedly bailed him out when his financial ventures failed.
Donald Trump Jr. didnt remember that the infamous Trump Tower meeting wasnt about getting dirt on Hillary until his own emails proving otherwise were exposed.
Jeff Sessions didnt remember meeting with any Russians until evidence surfaced that suddenly refreshed his memory.
Paul Manafort didnt remember to register as a foreign agent until he was caught not doing so.
Michael Cohen didnt remember doing anything unlawful on Trumps behalf until he was indicted for doing exactly that.
Jared Kushner didnt remember all of the contacts hed had with Russians when he filed for a security clearance and then miraculously remembered over a hundred such contacts when informed that his clearance might be denied on the basis of such non-disclosure.
While claiming to be the least racist person youll ever meet, Trump didnt remember that he was sued by the Department of Justice for discriminatory practices by refusing to rent apartments to blacks and minorities.
While claiming that he didnt fire Comey because of the Russia investigation, Trump didnt remember that he stated exactly that in a TV interview seen by millions.
The fact that a sexual assault survivor didnt remember the details surrounding a devastatingly traumatic experience is understood by psychologists, psychiatrists, medical professionals and anyone with a modicum of intelligence and common sense.
That Republican elephant sure has a selective memory when it comes to what should be remembered and what should be forgotten when politically convenient.

(11,885 posts)They lie when its them always, and deny, deny ,deny, then change their stories, and claim the one attacked is the guilty one, and they the attacker are innocent, always. But when its a Democrat they speak out how they need to go without anything proven, and do this over and over again. Hopefully women won't be cowed down and now come out against men doing these kinds of things to them , and even more now exposing them fully , like for trump and other republicans in Congress now for what they've done now to women. That what hurts them women exposing them .

(33,414 posts)It appears that selective memory works for long- and short-term.
The GOP doesn't remember Kavanaugh's perjury during the committee meetings, doesn't remember past perjury, and doesn't remember his temperment exhibition.
