(11,885 posts)And knowing a lot more will become exposed , and she'll regret it if she does, because everyone will be telling her off from it . It'll be just a stupid move she'll wish many times she didn't do. but the American people will not forget this from her and all others that vote FOR him. Then its proven on many other issues plus the sexual assaults he was a part of doing to girls. Many more to come out soon, and every day the gop will look like the fools and regret voting for him. It'll all make and incite many more to join together against them .

(33,414 posts)The damage GOPers have done will require (1) taking the House, (2) taking at least some State legislatures, (3) public pressure. Fixing all of it will also require taking the Senate.
They've been chipping away at this for a long time, so it can't be a quick fix. Discrediting their claims of vote fraud has been underway for a while. Work fixing the gerrymandering has likewise been ongoing. We still need paper trails, reinstating "purged" voters, making it easier to vote, and eliminating the multiple ways they have discouraged or disenfranchised non-white voters.

(27,849 posts)With that rat bastard Kavanaugh now on the SCOTUS, any voting rights case that gets to the Supreme Court will surely result in a decision favoring the GOP.

(33,414 posts)We've used courts to battle such things as unequal protection and discrimination -- bricks in the GOPer wall between haves and have-nots. They need judges who will rationalize ceding power to lawmakers (think Plessy v. Ferguson). Unfair laws that favor GOPers and GOPer agenda will not be struck down as long as RW judges sit in Federal courts all the way to the Supreme Court.
This attempted coup will take a long time to correct. That correcting process can't even begin unless we GOTV for November. People have to be made to understand that much of the damage will not even become apparent and personal to them until long after this election.
We have two wheels in the ditch and need a big steering correction right away. If people wait until the 2020 election to vote, we may be crashed and burning by the road.

(6,496 posts)The original goal was $2 million. I noticed they changed the goal to $4 million. Oh man, I don't think a Maine Dem running for office has ever had that kind of money. Not that I can recall. I just hope we don't attract the wrong kind of candidates for Maine, as in the kind of people that would move to Maine because they are politically ambitious and they want that money for their campaign. Someone said something about Susan Rice. As far as I know she is not a Mainer. Please don't even try moving here to run for office. That will sooooo backfire. Mainers think people like that are phony. You need to be a lifelong Mainer to win a race here. Born and raised here and you actually still live here. Summer homes don't count.
