(102,376 posts)Without that, who would know they took the knee? Up in the stands, it would be quite difficult to do in the seats or aisles and if they did--who would see?

2. Doing so will detract from the original intent behind the gesture, protesting police brutality against unarmed black men.

(1,819 posts)Not too many opportunities for women to take a knee. Maybe women's sports, but they don't seem to get much coverage.
I think the women's march was the most powerful political statement in my lifetime for women. I think we need something on that level again and again. Possibly another women's suffrage movement and we need to bring back the ERA movement as well.
