They're trying to destroy our way of life.
If they're a family member or friend, they're fucking you (and themselves) even if they don't know it.
This is how the Civil War tore families apart.
Nonetheless, there was a "right" side. It was the side that won. "Won." A strange word. The Civil War is still going on today and the "losers" are "winning." I'm not talking about just the South. I'm talking about every district in America that consistently votes to keep America white again.
Our country is being shredded by people of bad faith. Don't ask who they are. You know. "They," are anyone, anywhere in America who votes for hatred, bigotry, inequality, injustice, a tilted playing field and a rigged deck. They are people who want to keep others out. They are people who can't/won't accept the concept of decency. They are people who think that there are others who are not good enough to be considered "real" Americans.
People who think like this are a threat to our democracy and our freedoms. Even if they happen to be your pal, your aunt, or even your mother. But as long as they don't vote, you can live with their ignorance to some degree.

(22,050 posts)I've been doing it since before I could vote.
They are a dire threat to everything I was taught our country stands for.

(14,063 posts)who votes Republican just because hes a colonel in the Air Force and thinks Republicans support them more. He doesnt appear to be bigoted or hateful in any way. Yet he supports this hateful asshole Trump. It boggles my mind. Im struggling to keep a friendly relationship with him due to his support of democracy destroying, bigoted, oligarchs.
