As a psych nurse, its a question I ask all my patients. Quite often, the answer is "yes. I have experienced sexual trauma". Quite often, I am the first person they are telling. Time after time. No matter how old, Whether 18 yrs old or 78 yrs old This country is woefully ignorant when it comes to sexual trauma.

What we just witnessed was a sham. I kept asking myself. When are the politicians going to talk to experts? When are they going to talk to people like me? All politics aside, when are they going to talk to psychiatrists, nurses, doctors, psychologists, counselors? Ask them how many clients are telling you that they have experienced sexual trauma? They don't tell family but they TELL US! Even republican experts have to admit this fact-they know the truth. They know what is happening out there.
