3. It seems Avenatti doesn't like criticism and is erecting straw men in that post.

It's a bit tiresome and only adds to my skepticism of him.

Hell, anybody would get sick of rightwing assholes after awhile. Avenatti is just a lightning rod for those freaks.

7. Avenatti announcing some big, then delay was grandstanding

He needs to get his ducks lined up and announce when he had solid statement.

I think his client deserved better

I think it is best that he and the Dems re seen as distinct. He can do his thing-but it is his not theirs.

I haven't followed him closely, though. What delay are you talking about?

13. He announce re new witness and then left this hanging for a period of time

It's similar to Trump's technique of announcing he will have a big announcement later. It might work for Trump but I don't think it works for the opposition to someone like Kavanaugh because it pulls immediate attention from the witnesses already our there and focuses it on the unknown.

Also he did not have all the information from Swetnick that he should have which enabled Kav supporters to smear her (one ex- that ex-boyfriend charges or the defamation suit in her past- You need to know and get in front of anything that may be used to discredit your witness. Best if you control the release of that information yourself. I think Swetnick's story could have been used much more effectively and the opposition smearing of her could have been prevented.

One needs to know everything and never get blindsided-it unnecessarily hurts the witness and the cause. I think it hurt the witness more them it hurt him.

I don't care whether he is out there attacking Trump --it does energize persons on our side, but I think most Dem politicians should keep their distance from him. Their is nothing wrong with having two separate camps opposed to Trump and the rest of the Pugs.

9. Blaming our allies is a stupid move. If I can stomach Manchin for the "greater good" - then others

Sounds like he is responding with hyperbole and humor to something, but context would be nice.

mostly anonymous, one on the Judiciary Committee

one of the non-anonymous ones was Sen. Gary Peters of Michicgan:

"Well you know at some point there were a lot of folks coming forward making all sorts of accusations," said Sen. Gary Peters, a Michigan Democrat, when asked about the allegations raised by Avenatti and his client. "It turns it into a circus atmosphere and certainly that's not where we should be."

(...)

Peters said some Republicans pointed to the Swetnick allegations "to distract from the task at hand, which is really about pursuing what are serious allegations, and one that seemed to be credible.

"So there are always efforts whenever you dealing with a serious issue like this, that people want to change the discussion and have everybody chanse another different shiny object," Peters said. "Our job in the Senate, and it should have been the job of the FBI too, is to focus on those that are credible."
