would be a good "hook" for a cautionary post.

First, be very critical of ANY "breaking news" that is not from a source that long experience has convinced you is reliable. Mentally ask yourself if any part of the news seems contrived or counter to your understanding of its subject. Google any names or organizations referenced.

Second, DO NOT POST anything on DU or retweet anything just because it is shocking or thrilling or discouraging. And, don't avoid responsibility for the post by saying "Not sure about this source but, for what it's worth---"

We would likely be apalled at how much money is being spent to divide, discourage and confuse us. Let's not help them.
