And with the exception of a dad and his daughter in a kayak (much more scary than this larger boat), this is the first time I saw someone react so... out of touch? Indifferent? Self-centered? The whale was obviously saying 'hi' as they're known to do. There are hundreds of videos of this happening out there. Since cameras are now ubiquitous we now know it's fairly common. Before smartphones people just talked about whales and schools of dolphins saying 'hi' and it was thought of as mythical; but no, they're intelligent, they're saying 'hi' and seeing what's up.
