Come on, you can do better than that to disparage Bernie... especially when we're off-topic, discussing Michael Bloomberg.

virtually leaderless after the primary. A bunch of his most devoted HillHaters and others who fled to that little satellite forum at JPR had no idea what he wanted because, aside from a few rote statements of support that no one believed, he virtually disappeared. Without real leadership to tell them that they now needed to support Democrats and meaning it, they were still in thrall to his old messages and ranting and pledging not to.

This continued, btw, on past the election and through most of 2017. Whatever happened to his warnings about the dangers of vast wealth among a few and calls for redistribution of income? Remember that? That's the huge national emergency what attracted me to him, but...nothing. Crickets.

Instead, without Sanders leading, his followers spent the entire year badmouthing Obamacare --right along with the Republicans who control the WH and congress -- and looking forward to a glorious but unspecified future in which it would be repealed and replaced.

One hopeless issue discussed passionately by people without leadership for an entire year while the Republican termites they helped install were chewing up all the national systems we all depend on and installing judges determined to make liberal progressive goals legally unachievable. INCLUDING redistribution of income AND a national healthcare system.

So don't tell me Sanders hasn't been a terrible leader who's betrayed those who believed in him above all. Supporting Sanders got them Trump and cost them everything they hoped to gain.

Oh, btw, add to that list above continuing the large tax increases on the wealthy that Obama started. Even with a Republican congress he'd managed to increase their personal income taxes back to pre-Reagan levels. Much more to be done then, of course, far, far worse now.

Oh, btw, our next annual payment on the $1.6 trillion gift to the wealthy will be due in just a couple months now. We should never forget all those who made that possible -- and pledge to never be one of them.

I mean, when people here post things like he is "the most beloved politician on the face of the planet", there is no denying your post is accurate. He set a particular tone and they decided to follow him right over that cliff. He definitely could have pulled himself together and drummed a positive beat instead of dragging things out the way he did.

I WILL tell you, contrary to your inflamatory statements, that "Sanders HASN'T been a terrible leader who's betrayed those who believed in him above all" and that it's patently untrue that "Supporting Sanders got them Trump and cost them everything they hoped to gain."

Such misstatements do nothing to unify Democrats... they only divide our party. I sincerely hope you will reconsider your controversial statements and apologize.

The time is WAY overdue to unite... not divide by picking scabs off of old wounds. But then, here we are, as you say, with some still thinking the war is on.

Fucking clown wants to “cut entitlements” and raise the retirement age.

Last thing we need is some republican billionaire telling us we need to work until we are 75 and “chain the CPI” to the Cat Food Index.

I'd take him if I think he could get elected. He's not insane, not bent on destroying Democracy, would probably appoint people with working brains, and himself has some working brain cells. It's not a time to be a purist. YMMV.

Especially since the only reason he is doing it is so he can buy himself a presidency.

The guy is going to spend a billion of his own money so he can tell us we have to work till we are 75 years old - while he pays servants to wipe his old ass.

A real billionaire who knows and has experience in government. As apposed to 45 who is neither. Fuck the purity test, this guy is financial supporting The Democratic Party bid to regain of the Senate. Signed his name. Maybe this will put a brake on Trumpism...would have helped in the last 18 months I think.

Like Nike and Taylor Swift, they have completed the marketing calculus and rightly stood up to be a Democrat.

Republicans are the past, where hatred was worshipped. Democrats are the future were love rules.
