CNN's Toobin: Democrats 'Pathetic' to Worry About Hillary Clinton Motivating GOP Base

CNN’s Jeffrey Toobin called Democrats “pathetic” and “afraid of everything” in response to a new interview from Hillary Clinton.

Clinton slammed Republicans in the CNN interview and said, “You cannot be civil with a political party that wants to destroy what you stand for, what you care about.”

Wolf Blitzer asked Toobin tonight if Clinton helps or hurts Democrats with her comments mere weeks from the midterm elections.

Toobin responded, “I think Democrats are pathetic. They are afraid of everything. It’s like ‘Oh, we can’t have Hillary Clinton talk because it’ll motive the Republican base. We can’t have Barack Obama talk because it’ll motive their base. We can’t talk about impeachment or it’ll motive their base.’ You know what? Hillary Clinton got three million more votes than the other guy in 2016. I don’t see why she shouldn’t be campaigning around the country. I don’t see why Barack Obama shouldn’t be campaigning.”

“She is an enormously important figure in American history,” he continued. “She got 60-plus million votes. I don’t see why she shouldn’t speak out like any other famous person.”

Phil Mudd, on the other hand, argued Clinton needs an “extended vacation.” He said, “An east coast liberal lost to the biggest clown candidate in presidential history.”

THAT's what Toobin's talking about. I'm glad he called out that anchor for hitting that mandatory theme they all do every day.

I regret that he needed to cover what is an attack on an anti-Democratic MSM media theme by ascribing it instead to "Democrats." Even if some do believe and repeat those hostile messages here, by far most of us want all our big leaders out there campaigning.

It is the Republican, the foreign influence & 3rd Parties who want to keep her & every Democratic voice silent.

She is our greatest voice & that's why they silenced her from the day she entered the 2016 race until today.

The Grand Revolution, was a coup on the US Govt.

Thanks to Toobin for Finally interrupting the mantra of the coup that's damned set on wiping out the supporting structure from our country. It's citizens & their Democratic governance.

It's not Democrats, because they're never on the talk shows. It's the hosts and their regular guests. If someone is a big fan of the Clintons or the Obamas, they don't get any air time or face time to explain their support for two fine presidents. We hear from some dumbass in the hinterlands who loves them some Donald Trump because he's making America great again (says so on his hat, so there!), but a reasonable, reality-based supporter of Democratic candidates and office-holders? You'll see Bigfoot interviewed before such a person gets a chance to talk on Wolf's show.
