A journalist's goal is to inform people. Wikileaks' goal is to catalyze political change. (nt) DetlefK Oct 2018 #4

Read the leaked emails about Wikileaks' founding. Read Assange's thesis on how to fight oppressive regimes.

The whole purpose of Wikileaks is to destroy organizations via leaking, in order to turn the world into an utopian place. (Not kidding.)

Only Wikileaks is not leaking evenly.
They leaked on Clinton, but not on Trump. (They said, what they have on Trump is less outrageous than what he says on an everyday-basis.)
They also didn't leak hacked text-messages from Paul Manaforts daughter that accuse him of being involved murder. (Wikileaks said, they only publish stuff that hasn't been published before. But they had no problems publishing old news about Russia's SORM wiretapping-program.)

1) the NY Times is a legitimate US news organization. Wikileaks is not a legit news organization, are not US based and Assange is a known Russian asset

Also, you could say that the Pentagon is a government organization, while the DNC, while it manages the convention and raises money for Democrats, it is not technically a government organization.
