"I'm running for an office right now," she said. "This will f*ck me up really bad."

A newly released police video shows Oakland County, Michigan judicial candidate Julie McDonald asking for special treatment from a police officer who had just arrested her for driving while intoxicated.

Video from inside the car then shows McDonald talking to the officer about how she’s running for public office and that being arrested for drunk driving would harm her prospects of being elected.

“I’m running for an office right now,” she said. “This will f*ck me up really bad.”

“There’s not a lot of discretion I have with something like this,” the officer replied.

And she's right, this will f*ck her up badly. She should have been right up front w/ the voters and apologized for her mess up, but I'll bet she won't.

At the bottom of that "subscribe" screen, there's an option to read without subscribing you can click on. Smaller print, but it's there.

thing going on or do they have so much junk to download it just takes forever?

It is still opening in another tab as I write this.

I think CNN does the same thing.

EDIT: to add that my adblocker is disabled on the site

I have super fast internet and it still takes a bit to load.

Go grab uBlock Origin if you can. If you are on mobile get Firefox for mobile and you can install it there, too.

Every page typically tries to load and play FOUR autoplay videos, all simultaneously. Just plain stupid. I use only a desktop with DSL service and this mimics what I see on most Twitter pages where every video I scroll by starts to play.

Why can't they allow the users to decide when/what they want to play?

They've lost me as a supporter because of this issue......
