I sent out the Kamala Harris video to some friends

The one where she's questioning Wray.

Here is a reply I got back:

she is a Democrat....I'm over those guys. They repeatedly squander their power every time they get it. Flip side of the same coin. The GOP represents interests that we would oppose, guess who the Dems represent? Same folks, they just talk out of the other side of their mouth and then whine, "there's nothing we can do!" The giveaway of our health insurance system to the insurance companies is exhibit #1. I actually respect the GOP more than the Dems. At least they are honest that they represent business rather than citizens.

The far Left is almost the same as the far Right it seems in their impractical zeal.

Here are my replies back...

When you evaluate voting records, legislation proposed, and big money support there is a huge difference between the parties.
I understand your frustration however.

Here are some differences.

Things that Democrats would not be doing if they had the power:

Escalating towards nuclear war with NK.
Pulling out of Paris Climate Agreement.
Reducing National Monuments.
Defunding renewable energy.
Defunding CHIP.
Not helping Puerto Rico sufficiently.
Threatening and deporting DACA.
Building a wall on the southern border.
Attacking our allies and praising Russia.
Inviting Russian spies alone into the Oval Office and sharing classified intel with them.
Ignoring the Russia's cyber attack on our democracy.
Trying to revive the war on cannabis.
Backing expansion of private prisons.
Sabotaging the ACA.
Pushing an obscene tax bill which trigger cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security.
Decimating the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau and reversing it's goal.
A State Department in shambles.
Privatization schemes against public education.
Expanding the private prison system.
Attacking the BLM movement.
Praising White Supremacists.
Renewing attacks on our LGBT brothers and sisters.
Destroying Net Neutrality.
Decimating clean water and clean air standards.
Banning certain words from useage at the Center for Disease Control.
Oil drilling off our coasts.
30% tariff tax on solar panels.
Packing the Federal bench with pro-corporate rightwing extremist judges.
Cutting funding to Meals on Wheels.
Decimating women's rights.
Rolling back sexual assault protections on college campuses.
Attempting to discredit our FBI as it investigates Russian influence on our democracy.
Protecting wife beaters in their administration.
Signing legislation to make it easier for the mentally ill to purchase weapons.
Claiming nothing can be done to combat mass shootings while accepting millions of dollars in donations from the NRA.
Separating families.
Putting children in cages.
Demeaning women.

To name a few.

The ACA had been a godsend for us and millions. It was a lot better at its start before Republicans gutted it and drove up prices. Obamacare was meant to be a starting point.

Good news is that the Democratic Party is trending left when we see all the recent federal primary victories and state and local seats won.

I'd unfriend whoever that is.

Talk about uninformed.

You will have to forgive my "fool me twice, shame on you" nature. The Dems were trending left when Obama was elected too. I think we will need to agree to disagree. I won't be voting for anyone with a D or an R behind their name.

"There is no difference in the two parties," is a sentiment that comes from a very privileged point of view.
