I've lived in that part of Florida my entire life and have never seen a storm approaching this.

were asking to be evacuated (and were told, hang on - until it's all over. Too late to evacuate......).

I was wondering how Panacea was going to do (the marine bio. labs). They have a hard time in hurricanes (the poor fish

The last time a major hurricane rolled through, there were fish on the other side of the highway. But the lab - we know the owners. It's going to be a mess

There's a hopeful recent posting on their Facebook page that suggests that the lab will probably come through relatively OK (even though the photos showed a LOT of standing water in the area).

A lot of roofing & debree flying around.
Visibility is barely 1/2 block.
Storm chasers in their truck took shelter from the wind behind a bldg.
It is insane!

I could have sworn they were always in 5mph increments, which is why it seemed so strange when I saw 157mph as the threshold on my TV today......
