"have it all" even though they're not wealthy. We have friends who travel the world between returns to their home base on the Florida coast. Many winter in Florida and return to homes where their families are the rest of the year. Some with special health problems, or who are just past the age of being able to deal with several feet of snow and other winter problems, come south as a way of protecting their health. We have a waterfront MH in a park, and one of the more expensive of this year's events, a cruise around the Caribbean, was booked up immediately. People who aren't paying thousands every year on property taxes tend to have that money available for other things.

They helped elect a guy that rips infants and toddlers away from their parents and locks them up in cages, and I'm supposed to have empathy for them?

They've spent 40-50 fucking years basically saying; "fuck you" to people like me and my family, so I can't say "fuck you" back?

What makes you think all those people living lives within their means are Republicans I don't know. They're not, but even if they were wishing they all lost their homes is extreme.

Btw, we're among those people. We have 2 MHs in Florida, in fact, so you might think that would make us double fucking racists, but you're already so far over the line that the acceleration is nothing.

save at least one house pet from drowning with his or her family -- and provide a replacement loving home while we're at it.

On a smilier note, dogs small enough to ride in a purse or their own stroller, and that cost very little to feed (or room to keep!), are very popular on the coast. Endlessly cute to coo over when out flea marketing or whatever, but it's such a strong trend that, while driving down the street one day, I nearly wrenched my neck gawking in surprise at a bunch of large dogs in a park. Turned out it was a training class. I guess they'd all been hidden in back yards or something, but...surprise!

Hope they're all well, along with their homes and families.

...are priced out. I wasn't kidding about cars and RVs -- the general attitude of local ordinances is "Those are wheels, aren't they? Well move on and don't park overnight here." Damn that is inhumane.

Mobile home parks range from very very nice (like yours) to a slide down the scale to desperately scary. What they have in common is that people need a roof over their head they can afford. All I want is for state building codes that reflect the need for safety and sanitation, just like other forms of housing.

As for DU, as I noted in another thread on another topic, we are going through a rather ugly patch just now.

Is it what I imagined for myself when I was a young girl? No.
Am I ashamed to entertain family and friends? NO!!
Is it what we can afford? Yes!
Is it easy to maintain? Yes!
Is it accessible? Mostly... a ramp would be nice... but not yet.
Are we happy here? Yes!
Is it comfortable and cozy and safe and secure? Yes!
Do we have a good life in retirement/semi-retirement? YES!

Mobile home parks range from very very nice (like yours) to a slide down the scale to desperately scary.
I know what you mean. But I still refuse to judge someone because of where they live or what they can afford. And I hate it when people here post broad brush smears against trailer dwellers... good, honest, hard-working or retired folks.

And in the past when I've challenged and pushed back against those smears, nobody has ever retreated or admitted they were wrong. The response has been "well, except you" or "present company excluded".

The hate Mr. Trump’s supporters feel for us. I have no sympathy for them whether they live in Florida, Iowa, Tornado Alley, Hawaii. They do not deserve sympathy because their hatred does not allow them to be anything other than vicious towards those who disagree with their political beliefs. How did this turn into a slam about people’s living conditions. People live where they can afford to live. That’s okay. Look at the pieces of filth we have living in the White House.
