The Democrats have expanded their lead to 13 points in CNN's latest generic poll, taken four weeks out from election day, of how voters intend to cast ballots in November, and their level of enthusiasm.
The national poll found 54 percent of those surveyed intend to vote Democratic, while 41 percent will support Republican candidates. The Dems' advantage in September was 10 percent.
A yawning gender gap is at the root of the Democrats' lead. Sixty-three percent of women said they would vote for Democratic candidates: The poll was taken Oct. 4-7, as Republicans pushed through Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation to the U.S. Supreme Court.
By contrast, the Republicans have a five point, 50-45 percent, advantage among male voters who were surveyed.

(15,383 posts)The anti-women troglodytes were going to vote for Trump in the first place, and if more people were anti-Kavanaugh from what demographic were they expecting to make gains with? I think it's safe to say that we would pick more people off from "their side" in the form of moderate republicans who saw the hearings as a sham or were victims themselves and saw themselves in Dr. Ford's shoes. Just who were they expecting - that they didn't already have - to look at that shitstorm and say, "Yeah, I'm switching to republican?"
