I couldn't believe it when I saw this. It has NEVER bloomed twice in one year. I should be cutting it back, right about now.

(32,084 posts)They normally bloom in mid- to late spring. I don't remember it ever blooming twice a year, either.

(26,263 posts)It's been in the 70's and 80's but Friday will be in the 50's and 30's at night.
Tomorrow I'm bringing in all of my potted herbs, covering the one that are planted in the ground, and probably will cut and bring in that Mock Orange bloom, too.

(32,084 posts)It's been in the upper 80s-low 90s, with low 70s at night. The nights will get a lot cooler, though. That's where we'll see the 20 degree drop. I usually leave the houseplants out until the threat of a frost. It's generally mild enough here to leave the potted herbs outside all year, except for the basil. I might try to bring some of it inside, but I rarely have any luck growing it indoors.

(2,064 posts)We started the year with arctic cold, then had spring in February, a mini-winter in March and tropical downpours in April.
I have a butterfly garden and saw maybe 10% of the butterflies I usually see.
Its sad.

(58,785 posts)October 10, cloudy, high of 80, lower expected tomorrow with gulf weather. Before that, it was mid/upper 80s, having dropped from weeks of 90s, but NOT fall. No indication of first frost, must less hard frost.
When we moved here 18 years ago, the weather changed to autumn cool on or about September 1 as if it were programmed. It was a real event for us coming from Southern California, where close gardener observation was needed to detect signs of brief pauses in growth some time in November or December.
