Does your state have early voting? Check here.

Voting early is the way to go, if your state allows it.

As someone whose vehicle has been in the shop twice in as many weeks and who received notice to be on call for jury duty through Nov. 6, I can vouch for the fact that surprises can pop up that place major obstacles between you and the voting booth on Election Day.

So, if your state has early voting, cast your ballot at your leisure, and then on Election Day you can drive other people to the polls whose car is in the shop.

No. In NY you can't even get an absentee ballot without an approved excuse. TreasonousBastard Oct 2018 #1

And never served.

The first time was just weeks after my previous husband died, and I was in no frame of mind to make a decision about anything. I was crying while I was explaining that I had no brain at that time.

The second time the jury was seated before they got to me.

I'd really like a chance to serve. Maybe this year I'll get called again.

No driving to my voting place. No standing in line. I can take my time and go over each issue as I vote. Then I drive my ballot to a convenient drop-off box.

And then I can sit smugly while my husband is trying to figure things out.

Besides early voting, we went back to paper ballots. Plus, no ID needed other than tell them your address and birthday.

MVA is pretty good here, too. In and out with a new driver's license in 15 min.

Yay, MerryLand!

Had a replacement the next day. Did have to pay for expedited shipping, but still, they got it to me.
