Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI reviewed all 161 of GOOP's wellness products for pseudoscience. Here's what I found.
Abstract
Objective: To identify evidence that Gwyneth Paltrow is correct in her statement that the website GOOP does not sell pseudoscience.
Materials and Methods: A search of the products sold on GOOP.com in the wellness section.
Results: Biologically implausible therapies and ill-researched products were identified. The majority of health products (95%) could not be supported by science.
Conclusions: There is no evidence to support Gwyneth Paltrows claim that goop is free of pseudoscience. In fact the opposite is true, goop is a classic example of pseudoscience profiteering. The bulk of their products are useless, but some could be harmful.
Keywords: jade, crystals, vagina, coffee, enema, supplements, toxins, medical conspiracy theories, Epstein Barr Virus, mediums, vitamin B12 injections

OMFG, this is hilarious (especially since it is in the form of a research paper/article)!
Two more:
This analysis also indicates that goop appears to have passed through activated charcoal and turmeric and are now entering the apple cider vinegar part of the pseudoscience color wheel just in time for fall.
This researcher is looking forward to learning from Gwyneth Paltrows whole team of researchers and scientists how to recharge jade eggs with the energy of the moon as well as the equation for calculating the energetic frequency of the human body.
Well done, Dr. Gunter!

(146,329 posts)1. Good Job, Dr.
More useless, or even harmful, quackery to remove money from people's wallets and into Gwyneth's purse.
All such companies need to be exposed for what they are. They are as crooked as the old Medicine Show "Docs."
Step right up, ladies and gentlemen! Learn how you can extend your life and cure whatever ails you. Don't stand back there. Step up so you can hear my message of health and vigor!"

Scratch that. I shouldn't be surprised at all. Truly heavy sigh.
