Can anyone help me out here:
Does FEMA provide trailers for homeless victims of hurricanes anymore? I'm of the understanding that since Katrina they have stopped or at least slowed down that action. I don't remember where I read that but I read so much every day and I don't always keep track of my references.
There are many folks here where Florence devastated our communities, that are complaining about not getting a FEMA trailer.
We still have folks with homes underwater, needing food clothes and just the basics and the Red Cross has moved on. Most here have been refused help by FEMA. If it wasn't for the churches I seriously don't know what many of us would be doing. But, I digress.
Should we be expecting FEMA trailers?
If yes, why? If no, why not?
I'd like to put this debate to rest and give some straight answers to those who are desperately in need, who are handicapped by being victims of a disaster but also confused by the responses they are getting from the many disorganized voices weighing in on the subject.
Thanks in advance.

(22,805 posts)Some of the references are 404. Most recent to 2015. Doesn't look too promising for those wanting but I truly appreciate your help. We have over 600 children homeless in my area and almost 70 teachers without homes and the river, still covering many homes, about ten miles away from me. We're in a mess. Thanks for your help.

Just as he neglected PR.
The MSM should be all over his ass for his incompetence and lack of care about the sufferers.
He'd rather do his rallies for the deplorables and listen to idiot Kanye West's verbal spews.

(22,805 posts)You hit the nail on the head. It's not a surprise that a sociopath would be like that however. We're like wild animals, fending for ourselves. He loves disaster. It's how he operates. The worse, the better. Welcome to the world where the psychos rule. It's why we have to GOTV.
Thank you for the reply. I hope you and your family are safe and well.

(22,805 posts)Statement just released from US Senators Thom Tillis and Richard Burr:
Weve recently heard stories of North Carolinians who were denied federal assistance for losses associated with Hurricane Florence. Our offices are now requesting additional information from FEMA and local officials to get a better sense of specifics surrounding these reported cases. While not every North Carolinian who suffered property damage will be eligible for federal assistance, we want to make sure everyone who is eligible for assistance receives it. We encourage any North Carolinian having issues with their application for federal assistance to contact our offices by calling 704-509-9087 (Tillis) or 336-631-5125 (Burr).
