Trump unsure if Mattis will stay: 'He's sort of a Democrat'

President Trump said in an interview broadcast Sunday that it's possible Defense Secretary James Mattis will leave his administration.

Trump told Lesley Stahl of "60 Minutes" that Mattis hasn't told him that he intends to leave his post, but demurred when asked if he'd like to see the general depart the Cabinet.

"I have a very good relationship with him," Trump said. "I had lunch with him two days ago. I have a very good relationship with him. It could be that he is.

"I think he's sort of a Democrat, if you want to know the truth," the president continued. "But General Mattis is a good guy. We get along very well. He may leave. I mean, at some point, everybody leaves. Everybody. People leave. That's Washington."

I'm tired of Democrats being bi-partisan and hiring Republicans while they purge us all.

6. Nonsense. She should, if they are best for the job, and willing to execute her Presidential orders.

We can choose what norms broken by the Republicans we will restore, and which we will ignore - but emulating the Republicans embrace of ignorant, blind, and corrosive partisanship won’t be our way.

I, for one, think properly empowering and elevating “never trump” republican ideology thru representation in the next Democratic cabinet would be enormously beneficial, both politically and in terms of national unity.

We will model a reunited America by being better leaders, better citizens, better fighters, and better Americans.

And good Americans aren’t blind partisans.

If he really believes that he should fire General Mattis post haste. Of course he doesn't believe it. It's just more pablum he feeds his minions.

8. Pure propaganda. The repetition, the strategic lying, the normalization of abnormality.

All there in a brief statement. Trump knows exactly what he's doing. He's not delusional but he knows his base is.

Repetition: good relationship
Strategic lying: Mattis is a Democrat
Normalization of the abnormal: unprecedented level of turnover
