He said: "I recently made some poor judgments..."
Ya think? I've got to wonder what the results of his first two trips to Africa were?
I recently made some poor judgments that resulted in sharing photos of a hunt in which I did not display an appropriate level of sportsmanship and respect for the animals I harvested, Fischer wrote in his resignation letter, which was provided by the governors office. While these actions were out of character for me, I fully accept responsibility and feel it is best for the citizens of Idaho and sportsmen and women that I resign my post. I apologize to the hunters and anglers of Idaho who I was appointed to represent and I hope that my actions will not harm the integrity and ethic of the Idaho Fish & Game Department moving forward.
Fischer sent an email to more than 100 people last month when he and his wife returned from their trip to Africa. It was his third visit. The email included a rundown of the animals they hunted with photos of one or both of them posing with the animals. The first photo was of four baboons Fischer killed with a recurve bow at the beginning of the trip. Fischer posed, smiling, with what he called a family of baboons. That prompted at least two former Fish and Game commissioners to email him telling him he should resign. One of those emails written by Fred Trevey was forwarded to the governors office by another former commissioner. That email indicated that several more former commissioners were bothered by Fischers actions.
The governors office received 1,134 emails and more than 320 phone calls about Fischer, spokesman Hanian said. That feedback was overwhelmingly against Fischers actions, Hanian said. All but nine of the emails and two of the phone calls disapproved of Fischer, he said.

(359 posts)You fucking KILLED them - innocent wild animals, including babies. Don't give me this "harvested" crap.
and his "respect" for the animals. What an asshole.

(46,756 posts)They have been infiltrating these positions, even soil and water conservation positions, for years and we KNEW their agenda. They had no commitment to being good stewards.
We just have to wait until they poison the water, create conditions for red tide, or shoot any living thing they think they can get away with before we can take action.
And, frankly, resignation is not enough.

I know two on here I'll thank again: bettyellen and BigmanPigman. They worked hard against Kavanawful. He was confirmed, but their efforts yielded a lot more people informed and involved.

(9,671 posts)without knowing for sure, I've got to think the majority were from Idahoans. Red state, pro-hunting Idahoans. Otherwise, lame duck Butch would've likely just blown them off.

(9,671 posts)thinking that Blake Fischer could be related to former Idahoan, American Family Association dude and all around evangelical nut, Bryan Fischer. I did not do my due diligence, but my search turned nothing up. You know, birds of a feather and everything.

The animals he "harvested." That's how the whale hunters put it, too.
