Which is safer. A computer voting machine that can be hacked or an absentee vote which may not get counted. Going to be very interested to see the replies.

which carries a code number, so next week I can go online and make sure the ballot got into the system. If somehow it didn't make it I can request another.

That's the advantage of voting early in my vote-by-mail state.

But I will go on election day and use a paper ballot instead of the machine. We have fill the ovals with pencil as opposed to punching out the chads. I am always very careful to fill it completely without going outside the lines or make any other marks. Voting should not be an exercise in paranoia but there ya go.

Worry about voter suppression. Worry about restricted voting hours. Worry about machine breakdowns when you're in line. Don't worry that your votes will be changed. No Democratic candidate has ever claimed that they lost because of voter machine hacking.

There were attempts to hack totals. Especially the programs used to accumulate votes to send to central point.

I've asked the Ohio Democratic Party Director. He has a solid explanation for why we lost in 2016. Vote hacking had nothing to do with it.

The question is whether an early vs. election day ballot is easier to suppress.

In Texas, we can check to see if your early vote is recorded. For a fee we can check and get the names of the persons who voted early in each county.
