(58,785 posts)Apparently someone put out that 6000-8000 # ahead of time, and I just noticed that a lot of media, including both local and national, obediently quoted it ahead of time as if it were expected to be accurate information.
Trump overnighted in Mesa, AZ, and his rally today will have some of the crowd built in because it's being held at a private airport hangar out at the fringes of the county, and their employees will stop working and be there.
When he was in Phoenix last year, the Phoenix PD gassed peaceful protesters, and some people are still a little angry about that. Many venues apparently declined, and it was felt best to hold the rally as far away from a population concentration as possible, and away from the Phoenix PD. (The ACLU had been prepared to file for a court order restraining the PD.)
