Comically, Rmoney's Medicare stance hasn't changed any

Every member of the Republican House voted to end Medicare.

Romney said he agreed with that vote.

There was no Republican Representative he could have picked who had not already voted for the Ryan budget.

But we accept the contemporary view that VP picks are reality-TV symbolic statements of self. (As opposed to traditional reasons for picking a VP, like party unity or geographical balance.)

So in the eyes of the media, picking Ryan makes Mitt's plans for Medicare central to the campaign.

And good for that. The Ryan pick was a serious error, since it would inevitably put Medicare front and center.

But it is funny to ask why, to the media, eliminating Medicare wasn't already the central issue. Mitt's plans for Medicare haven't changed. They were just as newsworthy and important a week ago, a month ago, six months ago.

It's like an Onion headline...

Suspicions grow that man who applauded vote to end Medicare on national television months ago may favor ending Medicare.
