In the U.S. Senate race, Sen. Bill Nelson (D) leads Gov. Rick Scott (R) by five points, 50% to 45%.

(5,790 posts)Scott made a positive impression after Irma, and you'd think Michael would have presented him with the same opportunity. But I think the one issue that is around Scott's neck like an albatross is the Red Tide. His cuts to Florida Water Management + the release of all that algae = a red tide with beaches littered with dead fish on both coasts.
I hope these numbers hold. They are encouraging.

(31,261 posts)His attacks on science and his hugging up to Big Sugar and the Phosphate industry in Florida have come back to bite him in the ass.
Florida has a complex ecosystem. A governor can not ignore or downgrade any part of it. Nutrients being released into seawater has devastated the huge tourism business in Florida and the damage will get worse if we don't elect Andrew Gillum. Gillum is the one who has the emotional balance and foresight to work fixes for Florida's competing industries and get the state back to where all of them are once again contributing to the state's economy and not damaging it.
