in the House and/or the Senate? And what do we do if we lose? What are the next steps? What options are available for us to gain some control over our lives and the situation we find ourselves IN? Who will lead us through the time between the midterms and 2020? Who is our strongest fighter? Do we just sit and wait for Mueller? I need to know these answers.

(819 posts)But if we don't take back the house, we need to take a look at leadership. I'm not saying they must be replaced but we need to have a conversation at the very least.
We should be taking the house, no question.
The Senate map is looking really hard, but we will see.

(13,602 posts)Let's wait until November 7th before addressing such a scenario. It should be moot.

(12,344 posts)New leaders will emerge. We can only hope they are strong enough.
It helps to look at history, not as a done deal, but from the perspective of the time. When Rosa Parks refused to move her seat on the bus, she did not know how it would end up. In 1955, she did not know if she'd end up dead or uf the movement she started would succeed. That takes real bravery. Her heart must have been pounding but she stood firm.
It wasn't easy. But they did it. If they could do it, so can we. But first, we must live with not knowing. We must not fear the unknown.

What is it with this type of fatalism?
Seriously, as a pilot I was taught to fly a damaged plane all the way down to the ground, because no matter how hopeless a situation appears, there is always hope because weird shit happens without explanation, and giving up means certain death.
We're going to do what the Japanese did to Russian Navy, at the Battle of Tsushima. . .
Send their entire fucking fleet down to the bottom of the Sea of Japan.
Trump's Putin ships will come at us and while we start to cross the T, take some flack, only to deliver massive casualties as we cross the T and hit them with all main battle guns.

I really don't want to contemplate not taking the House. That's the stuff of nightmares.

(51,610 posts)on conducting real investigations and interviewing people the public will realize what a criminal organization there is in this admin and Oval Office and really start to turn against him. Nunez and other GOP bastards won't be able to cover up the truth that the Dems on the committees have been sitting on. I just hope this can be speedy since every minute he is in office, more and more Americans are in danger of being harmed by his policies and his sadistic and cruel words.
