Who was it on DU who said they bet Tiny was financing

Last edited Tue Oct 23, 2018, 11:41 PM - Edit history (2)

the caravan?

Bet they were right! Just saw a clip on Lawrence of him saying " you know how the caravan started ?". Then he made the motion of someone handing out money.

That's a tell. The man can not keep a secret! And blames others for his exact crime.

He is somehow financing them.

Trump has said more than once that people are getting paid to march.

And I assumed that means HE KNOWS about the arrangement.

I have said elsewhere that these people do not look like typical refugees. Their shoes are in good shape, their clothing not in rags, they are not gaunt and desperate looking as most refugees would be. They are energized, singing, dancing, full of life and enthusiasm from what I have seen on the CNN photos.

Something is different.

Suggesting he somehow crated this out of whole cloth for political gain is a conspiracy theory. These caravans are sponsored by 15+ year old humanitarian organization doing what it has been doing every year for 15 years.

Here's from the AP today about this:

...Such caravans have taken place regularly over the years, generally without great fanfare, but U.S. President Donald Trump has seized on the phenomenon this year and made it a rallying call for his Republican base ahead of Nov. 6 midterm elections.

...In Huixtla, the morning routine began with lines of people brushing their teeth and spitting toothpaste into the gutters. Donations of food and other supplies were brought in, and as garbage piled up in the square, the migrants tried to organize it into piles so it could be carted away.

Wilfredo Anaya of San Pedro Sula, Honduras, passed among them collecting coins in a foam cup to buy plastic garbage bags to leave the plaza clean.

“We all pitch in among ourselves,” Anaya said, “because this thing will go on for a while.”

Portable toilets were set up in one corner of the overflowing plaza. A few hundred people were also camped out on a basketball court outside of town, where there were no bathrooms and little donated food.

in time.

Stop with the kooky conspiracy theories. These caravans have been going on for 15 years, sponsored by Pueblo sin Fronteras.

7. The BBC has a piece today debunking claims by the Cons that Dems are paying for this caravan:

Guatemalan journalist Luis Assardo posted details on Twitter about his efforts to investigate the claims.

Assardo said he had spoken to locals who told him money, food and clothing were being handed out by local retailers to those in the caravan, up to a maximum of about $25 (£19) each.

It's all fake news/conspiracy theories.

It is also in the realm of kooky conspiracy theories to suggest Trump is funding a humaniitarian endeavor that began more than 15 years ago in order to win elections today. Especially after the history of the organization has been shared dozens of times.
