Scarborough Mocks GOP Pledge to Protect Pre-Existing Conditions They Sabotaged: 'They 're All Lying!

by Colby Hall | Oct 24th, 2018, 6:30 am

After airing a “supercut” of campaign ad clips of GOP candidates pledging support of pre-existing condition coverage, Scarborough could not contain his mocking laughter.

“They’re all lying!” he bellowed before taking down the candidate’s positions.

“Let’s just start with Rick Scott in Florida” he opened before mimicking the odd vocal timbre of the Florida Governor now running for Senate. “Did you know he’s in charge of the head on of a lawsuit you to do what? He’s suing to make sure insurance companies do not have to cover pre-existing conditions. ”

Scarborough continued “all those other Republicans, you know what they did, as well? They also are either suing to make sure that insurance companies don’t have to support pre-existing conditions or they voted in Congress to make sure that insurance companies don’t have to pay for pre-existing conditions.”

The former Republican Congressman turned morning show host stuck the landing with “they’re all lying through their teeth!”

For nearly the past decade, the consistent Republican position on health care reform was that Obamacare was a policy abomination that would lead to record unemployment and tank the economy.

don't vote "for" something, they vote against the lazy, Socialist Democrats. No matter how bad Trump/Republican politicians screw over their working class voters, their voters will always be there for them.

I can't wait until they file their taxes next year and find out their big return isn't so big.

If Trump/Republicans privatize Social Security and Medicare, or drastically cut them, it will be too late.

I just had dropless cataract surgery and was in the waiting room waiting to get checked out. I had a nice conversation with a man while waiting. They had Fox on which the guy was watching, he turned to me and said, what are we going to do about all of those people in that caravan heading our way? I looked at him and simply said, why, it has happened many times before. These people are just fleeing violence or looking for a way to feed their family. I would do the same thing if I were in their shoes. We had no more political conversations.

These are the death throes of private insurance.

The people clearly want it. The rest of the developed world has it. It is the only thing that makes any fiscal sense. We will have it. Someday.

The last hour was a Democratic ad. The first part was all about Trump and Republican lies on protecting pre-existing conditions. I missed the middle due to my trip to the Y!

Donny Deutsch will be on Thursday morning to show ads he is making working with the DNC.

What is going on?

The media likely won't do that effectively. This may be a case where President Obama might be able to demand that Trump put his actions where his mouth is. Trump has the power to order his HHS department to redo its guidelines with a clear strong requirement that ALL qualified plans must cover pre existing conditions -- unlike the recent statement If he then refuses -- he is lying through his teeth (as always).

We need to use his lie to call him out. Is he lying or is he ignorant of what his administration is doing?

Note that when looking at this, I found this WP article that in bold face type argues that the changes do not eliminate plans which cover pre existing conditions. It then explains. This is a sneaky attack on the entire framework that creates affordable plans that cover pre existing conditions. Allowing cheaper, less good plans would siphon off the healthiest people -- raising the cost of the comprehensive plan. This takes us back to "risk pool" plans as the only option for people with any pre-existing conditions.
