MI-GOV: Pollster says Whitmer's finishing strong
LANSING (WKZO AM/FM) -- The latest pollster to release numbers on Michigan Gubernatorial race says its not too late for Bill Schuette to turn things around, but he is running out of time.
Tom Shields, President of Marketing Resource Group says right now the momentum is with Gretchen Whitmer. His poll shows she is 14 points ahead because she is dominating in places that voted for Trump two years ago, including West Michigan.
He says Schuette was weakened by a negative primary campaign, faced with a blue wave and a pink wave and never found the issue that clicked with voters.
He says its always a race to win over the undecideds, but even if Schuette was able to get all of those voters to vote for him, he would still lose.
Sheilds says tonights Gubernatorial Debate could change the momentum, but only if people watch, and then only maybe.
