California could go it alone and manage rather nicely. California even grows its own food. Big bucks. Big industry - 21st century industry. A melting pot that works, not perfectly but pretty effectively. And last I saw or heard, nobody’s rioting (as trump lied about).

At their Walmart, their Bass Pro Shops, their Harbor Freight, their Dollar General, their NAPA, hell everything for the redneck lifestyle except grits and chitlin’s has to get to California first before it can be unloaded and shipped out to various citadels of inbreeding.
Imagine the tariffs WE could impose on that stuff!

Hypothetically, if a person were to retire from say, oh, I don't know, Iowa, to California, where could someone find housing on a fixed income of no more than $50,000 per year?
