It's really telling that all during the years of President Obama....

.....no one ever sent any threatening devices to George W. Bush.

Even after considering the fact that he lied us into an unnecessary war and wrecked the economy....no one ever felt the need to be so stupid and go there.

We were too busy moving forward to obsess or hate about the past.

Goes to show how far the poisonous rhetoric has taken our country over the past 2 years thanks to the message being sent from the very top.

While man of us on the Democratic side have begun to speak of Trump's presidency as an existential threat to the nation and there has been some problematic rhetoric, the Republican playbook has been consistently the playbook of grievance. They are mad and scared about any changes in this country. They made President Obama, who was center left, out to be this radical who was going to upend everything they knew. They stopped him on policy that was compromise policy incorporating many of their own ideas, just because it was him. Republicans only seem to know one way to frame an argument and that is to find some powerless minority to blame and tell their followers of impending doom because of some recognition of that group's humanity and needs.

Trump, with his narcissism and Roy Cohn learned dirty tricks has pulled the cover off of the Republican playbook and shot it up to hyper speed.
